class will Evolution
compete?
Evolution
is a Percussion Independent World Class competitor in Winter Guard International.
What is covered
by the membership fee? ($800 dues + $150 fundraising commitment)
The membership fee pays for instruction, equipment, costuming,
transportation,
meals, facilities and housing.
Will rehearsals/competitions interfere with drum corps?
While this is a possiblity, it has become a common practice for the
two organizations to reach a compromise which allows the member to participate
in both ensembles.
How does Evolution travel?
Evolution members and staff travel in passenger vans. Food,
instruments
and other equipment are transported on a separate truck.
Where does Evolution stay when touring?
Evolution members and staff are
housed at schools or churches near the performance site. Members sleep in
sleeping bags in a gymnasium or classrooms and are well supervised
by adult chaperones. Members may not stay at area hotels with family members.
How are meals provided while touring?
Meals are prepared and served daily by members of the support staff either
at the performance or housing site. Members are free to purchase
additional snacks following their performance should they wish.
What would happen in the case of a medical emergency?
Evolution will have on file the location of the nearest hospital to the
performance and housing sites. Should a medical emergency arise, a support
staff member will provide transportation for medical treatment.
Where will Evolution be touring this year?
Evolution
will be competing at shows in Ohio,
Michigan, and Indiana and will perform in exhibition in Illinois and Wisconsin.
Can parents and other family members tour with Evolution?
Absolutely. Parents and other family members are always welcome on tour.
Opportunities will be made available to act as a chaperone, member of the
support staff and, most importantly, a fan.
