The L.e.a.P.
organization prides itself on exposing its members to the finest clinicians and
guest soloists in the world. The following artists/educators have appeared as
clinicians and/or soloists at the Jump Start Day of Perucssion, held each year
in the months of May and October.
Michael Burritt
Professor of Percussion, Northwestern University
Michael Burritt received his Masters of Music from Eastman School of Music
and has presented recitals and master classes throughout the United States,
Canada, Europe, Asia, and Australia. Mr. Burritt’s numerous recordings
include his Carnegie Hall solo recital. He has performed as a soloist with
the Dallas
Wind Symphony, the Omaha Symphony, the Chautauqua Festival
Orchestra,
the Ju Percussion Group (Taiwan),
the Percussion Art Quartet (Germany), the Amores Percussion Group (Spain),
Peaux (Sweden), and the Tempus Fugit Percussion Ensemble (Pittsburgh). He was the featured artist at seven
Percussive Arts Society International Conventions and is the composer of
published works for marimba, solo percussion, and percussion ensemble. He
has served as a contributing editor of Percussive Notes and is a member of
the Percussive Arts Society’s board of directors. In addition, he serves as
a product designer and consultant for Malletech and an artist and
educational clinician for the Avedis Zildjian Company. |

Huei-Yuan Pan
Assistant Director of Bands, Lyons Township High School
Huei-Yuan Pan received his Masters of Music degree in Percussion
Performance
and Literature from Northwestern University. While a student at
Northwestern,
his duties included coaching freshman percussion ensembles,
instructing and arranging for the Wildcat Marching Band drumline, and
teaching non-major lessons. Previously, Huei attended the University of Texas,
where he received
his Bachelor of Music degree in music education and human learning. His
marching percussion experience includes
the Phantom Regiment Drum
and
Bugle Corps and the Cavaliers Drum and Bugle Corps. |

Third Coast Percussion Quartet
Based In Chicago, the members of the Third Coast Percussion Quartet are Owen
Clayton Condon, Robert Dillon, Peter Martin, and David Skidmore. The group
performs an eclectic repertoire that infuses elements of rock, performance
art, improvisation, world music, and the avante garde. |

Gina DeGregorio
Band Director, Deer Path Middle Scchool
A graduate of VanderCook College of
Music in Chicago, Gina is currently a band director at Deer Path Middle
School in Lake Forest. In addition to her marching experience as a former
member
of the Pioneer Drum & Bugle Corps, Gina has first-hand knowledge of theatrical
productions as a performer and instructor and is an experienced percussion instructor at Hersey High School.
Gina has been involved with the L.e.a.P.
organization since 2005 and is the newest staff member of the Jump Start
program. |
