Jeff Hoke, Director
As an instructor, Jeff Hoke has achieved success at local, state, regional, national and international levels in marching band, drum corps and indoor percussion. He also serves as an adjudicator in the pageantry arts and in grade school solo and ensemble competitions. He instructs more than fifty private students each week and conducts percussion master classes and workshops throughout the Midwest.

Mr. Hoke has arranged for both the indoor and outdoor marching percussion ensemble, composed solo and ensemble literature for a variety of percussion instruments, and authored two books on rudimental snare drumming. Articles and reviews by Mr. Hoke can be found on the pages of Percussive Notes.

Mr. Hoke is the founder and director of L.e.a.P., Jump Start, and Camp Drum which offer a variety of educational and performance opportunities for percussionists in the Chicago metropolitan area.

Brian Massimo, Jump Start Gurnee
Brian “Choppy” Massimo has been a private percussion teacher in the Lake County area for more than twenty years. In addition to his teaching experience, Brian currently serves as the principal percussionist for the Waukegan Symphony, the Waukegan Municipal Band and Full Score. Brian was the pit caption head of the two-time world champion L.e.a.P. indoor drumline during the 2003 and 2004 seasons and a clinician for the L.e.a.P. organization's Camp Drum.

Brenden Harder, Jump Start Lake Villa
Brenden Harder is a fifth year veteran of the L.e.a.P. organization. He currently teaches private percussion lessons in McHenry and has served as a clinician at the L.e.a.P. organization's Camp Drum. Brenden attended the College of Lake County.

Gina DeGregorio, Jump Start Vernon Hills
A graduate of VanderCook College of Music in Chicago, Gina is currently a band director at Deer Path Middle School in Lake Forest. She plays both percussion and piano and is involved in local musical theater productions as a performer and instructor. Gina has been involved with the L.e.a.P. organization since 2005 and has served as a clinician at the Jump Start Day of Percussion.


John Stolfe, Jump Start Kenosha
John Stolfe is a professional percussionist and the owner of Portside Percussion in Kenosha. In addition to teaching private lessons at his studio, he currently works as a percussion instructor with the Kenosha Unified School District, Antioch Community High School and Greendale High School. John is also a member of the Percussive Arts Society and has served as a clinician at the L.e.a.P. organization's Camp Drum.
